The park has been a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1999 and within its perimeter you can meet, observe and study over 300 species of birds. This makes the Parco del Delta del Po the largest Italian ornithological area, as well as one of the most relevant in Europe.

The advice is to leave in the moments of greatest migratory transit, which include the months between mid-July and mid-October, and between late February and mid-April. In these periods of the year, in fact, there are the largest number of species, about 50 of the only waterfowl. Binoculars in hand, you can observe birds such as flamingos, spoonbill, osprey, herring gull, cormorants and numerous Anatidae and limicolous.
